Equine Vaccine and De-Worming Schedule

This timeline is meant to be a general guideline. Ask us about specifics for your situation.

January
Pregnant mares: Rhino (EHV -1 ). Botulism, Rotavirus (foal diarrhea).
Yearlings: Rhino, Botulism (in future we\'ll vaccinate weanlings).
Other horses: none.

February
Pregnant mares: Botulism booster (if never vaccinated before), Rotavirus booster, Tetanus booster.
Yearlings: Botulism booster.
Other horses: none.

March
Pregnant mares: Botulism booster (if needed). Deworm.
Yearlings: Botulism booster. Deworm.
Other horses: Deworm.

April
None.

May
Broodmares: West Nile Virus (WNV), Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE), Tetanus, Potomac Horse Fever (PHF), Rabies, Strangles. Deworm.
Yearlings: Same.
Other horses: Same.

June
Broodmares: None.
Yearlings: WNVbooster, if needed.
Other horses: none.

July
All horses: Booster WNV .Deworm.
Foals: WNV/EEE/WEE/Tetanus, Rabies, Botulism, Rhino, Strangles.

August
All horses: Booster WNV and/or PHF depending on conditions and disease prevalence this year.
Foals: Booster WNV /EEE/WEE/Tetanus, Botulism, Rhino, Strangles.

September
All horses: Booster WNVand/or PHF if prevalent this year. Deworm.
Foals: Booster Botulism.

October
All horses: Intranasal flu. Rhino (especially pregnant mares).

November
All horses: Deworm.

December
Pregnant mares: Rhino. Pregnant mares should receive Rhino boosters at 5, 7 and 9 months gestation, regardless of this calendar.
